Building bike community and advocating for cycle safety
Cycle Action Waiheke (CAW) has been in existence for over two decades. As a Bike Auckland Bike Burb and original member of the Cycle Action Network, CAW advocates for safe cycling infrastructure and creates community for people on bikes.
CAW organizes bike events and offers monthly social rides with a variety of themes. CAW co-created BikeHub Waiheke (formerly BikeBox), a community bike repair hub at the Waiheke Resources Trust Sustainability Centre in Oneroa, and created the Waiheke Bike Map with support from the Waiheke Local Board and Auckland Transport.
